The mission of the Crime Mapping & Analysis Program, as currently structured, is to provide technical assistance and introductory and advanced training to US-based local and state law enforcement agencies in the areas of crime and intelligence analysis and geographic information systems (GIS).

National Law Enforcement & Corrections Technology Center

Created in 1994 as a component of the National Institute of Justice's (NIJ's) Office of Science and Technology, the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center (NLECTC) system serves as an "honest broker" offering support, research findings, and technological expertise to help State and local law enforcement and corrections personnel perform their duties more safely and efficiently.

The NLECTC system consists of facilities across the country that are co-located with an organization or agency that specializes in one or more specific areas of research and development. Although each NLECTC facility has a different technology focus, they work together to form a seamless web of support, providing technology assistance, support, and information. Click here to learn more about the "Center System"!

NOTE - Only US Law Enforcement agencies are eligible for NLECTC/CMAP support. No assistance is available for academic, foreign, or individual queries. NLECTC-RM is currently funded to facilitate training classes for law enforcement officers and analysts, and to provide support for the CASE tool to law enforcement. All other inquiries must be directed toward this site's user guides and FAQs, as no direct support or assistance is otherwise available.
